Brandon Kisker

Originally born in Buffalo, New York on January 29th, 1988, Brandon Kisker has lived in Cincinnati nearly his entire life, but still finds a deep connection with the city of Buffalo. He is a die hard Buffalo Sabres fan and he also loves the Buffalo Bills and FC Barcelona.  He is a huge sports fan, but really enjoys hockey, futball, Sand Volleyball, American football, and basketball.  He has played hockey since the age of two and has just recently started a futball team.  Brandon was a member of the Mason City School District from Kindergarten all the way through the 12th grade.  After graduation in 2006, he attended the State University of New York at Buffalo in Amherst, New York.  After attending for a semester, Brandon felt that he wasn’t reaching his potential there and decided to transfer to the University of Cincinnati where he has remained ever since Spring Quarter of 2007.  At the University of Buffalo, he was in the radio club, WRUB, doing the “Midnight Music Mix” on Sundays from 12-2AM, but his love for sports left him wanting more than just a music show.

During the Winter Quarter of 2008, he met Duane McDonald, a valued member of the Bearcast Sports team in which Duane informed him all about Bearcast Radio.  After joining Bearcast, he has spent his time as a broadcaster and studio analyst for the Bearcats hockey, men’s and women’s soccer, baseball, and women’s basketball teams.  When he joined Bearcast, he quickly developed a relationship with Scott Waldrop and both had decided to partner up to have a show dedicated to hockey; and partner they did in Autumn Quarter 2008 with “The 5 Minute Major” alongside of Nick Saul.  After Nick left the show due to schedule conflicts, Jason Garrison joined Bearcast and the three have been together ever since talking, bickering, and fighting about hockey.  In the Spring of 2009, Brandon had decided to run for Sports Director of Bearcast, and ended up becoming the Assistant Sports Director to Dylan Moody.  He also has agreed to broadcast every home game and select away games for the Bearcats Ice Hockey team.  Brandon also works closely with Blaine Stoughton, coach of the Bearcats hockey team and former National Hockey League and World Hockey Association star.  In that same Spring, Brandon was also accepted into the College Conservatory of Music for Electronic Media.

Brandon became the official voice of the Bearcats hockey team in 2009-2010, and broadcasted 13 games for the Bearcats including all home games (including at Xavier) and the away game at Miami University.  He will reprise his role next season, and looks to become more involved with the teams day to day operations.  Currently, Brandon is teaming up with Director of UC Hockey Operations Van Oler to make a new Bearcats Hockey website, which is coming soon.

What the future holds for Brandon is a complete mystery, but he would like to go into sports media and intern and work in the National Hockey League.  Another dream of his is to have his own television show on the Travel Channel.  He would love to work in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, which he has been quoted as saying is his favorite city in North America.  Until then, he will continue working hard at the University of Cincinnati, and continue having fun as a Bearcast Sports member and as a co-host of the greatest hockey show in Ohio!
